MODEL OF SOCIAL PROGRESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Introduction
This journey begins with Harry, the older brother of the family, he worked years ago as a manager of a similar company so with this previous knowledge and experience, 16 years, he was and is undoubtable the precursor of such as great idea. He tried to start the business by his own but with no so much budget and during 2019 he had to sell out some of the cars due to the COVID emergency and the low tourism the country received , was impossible to sustain the business.
Therefore, the born of our company, GAMA, was a reason of happiness as a dream that interwoven in the heart for long ago and with so much desire to sprout out. However, it was not possible until some conversations between two families GALLO and MATA, last names, therefore the name of GAMA , we agreed to ask for a loan, all this during pandemic 2020. To start a business in the field of rent a car is really challenging due to the high among of money it requires, nevertheless we thought about starting with five cars and so we did.
Finally, the idea took shape, the society began and actually, the small business gives job to some families in the community and out of the Nicoya´s peninsula.
As for the partners , we must learnt a lot about how to handle a company, how to deal with so many details about administration and so on, but very proud of the worked we have done during this time and of the growing of the company GAMA. We are a small company with expectations of continue growing in the following years.
Social progress model
Definition: social progress is the evolution of society towards an ideal scenario that has a positive impact on the well-being of the members of that social group. Therefore, thanks to this progress, people can have a better standard of living.
The birth of the GAMA company was a reason for happiness since it was a dream that was woven in the heart for a long time and with a great desire to sprout. It was not possible until, through conversations between two families, we agreed to apply for a loan, this in times of pandemic, and undertake in the rent a car area, with the prior knowledge of Harry, older brother, who was undoubtedly him. forerunner of such a brilliant idea that was already carried out by him but, on a smaller scale, then it happened, the company was born and with it it branched out to other areas where several families are indirectly given work in the area, Peninsula de Nicoya, surroundings and outside.
At GAMA we feel very pleased with our work since what began as a dream without form today has it and provides sustenance to several families in the area.
Today jobs are generated for people who are not necessarily part of the company but indirectly and who do a wonderful job of keeping our cars in perfect condition, in order to provide quality service to our customers. GAMA is synonymous with progress since economic growth has a constructive impact on the social development of a town and in the short time that the company has, 2 years, it has demonstrated this.
These are some of the indirect jobs; mechanics, painting, upholstery, electricity, auto-decoration, web designer, accountant, lawyer and serigraphy.

Environmental awareness model
Definition: environmental awareness is a general philosophy and social movement in relation to the concern for the conservation of the environment and the improvement of the state of the environment.
At GAMA we are sensitive to the concern of caring for the environment, which is why we want to generate an impact at the company and community level in the search to improve the environmental practices of our peninsula and show that with small actions the changes are enormous with the time, we also want to teach our generations that we are responsible for what we do to this land and that what we do today will be passed on to future generations. At GAMA we want to be the seed of good environmental practices since we are aware of the footprint we leave and that this will be a model for many to want to be part of this continuous improvement that human beings need in this society that requires learning and education.

- Use of cloth bags for different purchases.
- Use of garbage bags inside cars.
- Reduction in the use of paper (invoicing electronically)
We urge our collaborators to improve the issue of environmental awareness.
Projects
- Plogging (join groups where things are done for the environment).
- Make groups to go to beaches in the area and collect the largest amount of waste that people throw away, the one that comes from rivers or the one that has been there for a while.
- Contribute financially to campaigns that help improve good environmental practices. (plastic bags, transportation, gloves, food, carts etc).
- Find ways to educate the population in public places, parks, squares, centers to demonstrate environmental practices.
- Tree sowing.
- Seek advice to obtain training and be able to contribute to our community.
- Join forces with other companies, schools, colleges or environmental groups to carry out activities.
